Days Out

A short drive away are the spectacular White Scar Caves, the longest show caves in the UK and an ideal destination for a rainy day out. The charming cobbled streets of Hawes are a similar distance away. Market day is Tuesday and other attractions include the Wensleydale Creamery (home of the famous cheese!) and Outhwaites Rope Factory.

A mile north of Hawes is Hardraw, which features the highest waterfall in England at the Green Dragon Inn, which also hosts an annual folk festival and brass band competition. Two miles north of Hardraw is the superb Buttertubs Pass which leads on towards England's highest pub The Tan Hill Inn.

Dent Station is also close to hand with direct trains to both Leeds and Carlisle. Leeds with it's world class shopping areas provides the ideal city day out.

A short drive away is Kirkby Lonsdale - a characterful and picturesque market town providing boutique shopping and fine dining, and Kendal and the Lake District also make for good day-tripping.
